Cardiology

I know that Cardiology and I broke up months ago because of the demanding schedule and on-call madness... but can I just express how much I still love it. We officially entered our cardio block today in Physiology... and it all makes so much SENSE to me. The traces, the cardiac AP's, the receptors, the stoke volume vs the ejection fraction. It's so intuitive and amazing. Too bad... we could have had a good thing....

  1. I've been hanging with a cardiac electrophysiologist for a week and I love the cases, the patients, the procedures, the thinking... unfortunetly it really is busy and lifestyle sucks. Still I can see myself going into it.

  2. EKGs are awesome! But yes, crap-tastic schedule. (Incidentally, anesthesiologists do a lot of cardiology too....)

I remember going through every physio block too thinking, "I wonder if liking XYZ means I'll be a cardiologist, (or whatever)," but trust me (and I'm sure you already know this) it's SO DIFFERENT once you get to the clinics. It's great that you seem to be enjoying yourself though.

And if you like receptors, you will LOVE brain and behavior.
