A man speaks frantically into the phone, "My wife is pregnant, and her contractions are only two minutes apart!"

"No, you idiot!" the man shouts. "This is her husband!"
Shadowing is BORING. It's better when you're doing the work. But yes, I feel you on the general med outpatient complaints. Not really my thing either.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't really even shadowing though. We have a student clinic where med students see the patients and present to the attendings. So I was actually doing stuff. I did the entire H and P myself.
ReplyDeleteMy point being, I was still bored. Eh.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Sometimes you get a patient who you really like, and their back pain becomes fun and interesting to treat. But mostly, htn checks are just not exciting to me.
