One of the best things about being a Doctor? The ridic amounts of free food and special treatment. Especially in the physicians lounge. I went into one the other day that had free soft serve ice cream, an ENTIRE freezer of ice-cream bars, 10+ leather sleeper massage chairs, cappuccino machines, free laser color printing, a 60" LED flat screen TV, a fresh salad bar, hot meals all day long, soda machines, etc. All free for the Docs! Ahhh.

ReplyDeleteSo, those who can most afford it get it for free. I already knew this, of course. This goes a long way toward contributing to the growing sense of entitlement so many doctors feel - and for the rising cost of healthcare. Soft serve ice cream?!?!?! Welfare for people making $200K+, nice.
ReplyDeleteAnon~ are you kidding? These are private companies providing conveniences for their employees. And having a doctors lounge seems pretty logical considering how many are required to be on call and stay in the hospital for 30+ hours at a time. Get a grip. Last time I checked, soft serve ice-cream wasn't a luxury restricted to the upper class. I didn't say there was caviar and foie gras.
