To the Dark Side

So, although I really do not agree with the exorbitant prices that MCAT prep classes charge... AND I think their classes are mostly crapola, I have indeed surrendered to the frailty of my bank account and have accepted a position to teach MCAT at one of these awful test prep places. Although it is technically against my code of ethics (I mean, pole dancing and stripping is less offensive to me)... I'm still doing it.

  1. Hi Ella,

In your opinion, what is the best way to prepare for MCAT Verbal reasoning?

  2. Have fun. I've only had 2 really good MCAT teachers. Who actually shared their own tips (a no-no in Kaplan), the rest were terrible, it was obvious they were doing it for the money and one (I dare say) loved to make us all feel like we're never going to make it and he's all superior to us because we were just med-student-wannabees. I think those people make those classes a "crapola." I hope you are helpful to your students. :)

  3. My MCAT instructor (a kaplan guy.. i know i know, heresy) was actually good. Helpful, available, level-headed, supportive, and laid back (thank GOD!!).

Ella, from my limited understanding of you through ur blog, you'll be great. You'll probably end up inspiring a bunch of students.
