Getting Your MD in Italy?
Sounds pretty good to me if you are interested in going internationally. It's a 6-year program in Milan at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. Taught in ENGLISH. Yay! No MCAT needed but you have to take an entrance exam which is only given in the USA in NYC. And it's on April 28th. So if you're interested you better get on that. Anyway, just thought it was a cool option for those of you who might be interested.

It looks like you don't even have to have a Bachelors...am I reading this correctly???
ReplyDeleteCool! You can also get your MD in Poland. I am starting there on a 6-year program from August. Superexcited!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I really like your blog!
That does seem cool! Good find. Only I'm guessing that you're not licensed to work here in the states afterwards. I would miss 4th of July BBQs too much :)
ReplyDeleteI think you are eligible to participate in the match for US residency. But I'm not totally sure.
ReplyDeleteAh, but you DO need a bachellors and an MCAT, required by the Italian Ministry of Education.
ReplyDeleteThey basically require what your country requires, but if you did high school outside the US, then you're all set and can start at 18. Fun, eh?
I'm from San Francisco Bay, doing medicine in Italy, same city, but doing paperwork for the other program like this, which is almost free but requires fluency in Italian, not this one (there are two!).
Yes, you can do residency in the US, or any of the European countries and United Kingdom. Heard the US National Board of Medical Examiners was there at the campus recently.
Well, I only have good things to say about the academic level of these 2 medical institutions, but I love Italy so I'm biased :)
Man...three years too late! So cool, though!
ReplyDeleteBookmarking for later. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI think I <3 you!
ReplyDeleteHmmm - wondering if I can bring my great dane with me... :P
