Example one...
She is on phone call A. On a land line.
Her cell rings. She looks at it, hands her cell phone to me, and says "Can you just tell her I'll call her back?"... as if she totally knew the person.
I say "sure", pick up the phone and say to the woman, "Hi this is Dr So-n-so's phone. She asked me to tell you that she'll call you right back. Is that ok?"
Twenty minutes later after she gets off the phone, she looks at me and says "Well? Who was it?"
I'm like "uh, duh, I thought you knew who it was.... duh...."
Caller ID?
ReplyDeleteI remember one time when I was volunteering in the ER, I answered the phone. Usually I just transfer most calls to the nurses station, and that day I was running on autopilot. I picked up the phone and let the caller know that I would transfer them to the back. After I transferred the call, the registrar looked at me and said "you know that was a nurse from the back that you just gave the runaround right?"
