My journey through medical school, thoughts on medicine, ethics, specialties, pre-med perils, and advice for those who want to do the same.
“"Virus" is a Latin word used by doctors to mean, "Your guess is as good as mine”
"The difference between an itch and an allergy is about one hundred bucks."
"A patient going to a doctor for his first visit was asked, ''And whom did you consult before coming to me?'' ''Only the village druggist,'' was the answer. ''And what sort of foolish advice did that numbskull give you?'' asked the doctor, his tone and manner denoting his contempt for the advice of the layman. ''Oh,'' replied his patient, with no malice aforethought, ''he told me to come and see you.''"
"He's the best physician that knows the worthlessness of the most medicines" Benjamin Franklin
A man speaks frantically into the phone, "My wife is pregnant, and her contractions are only two minutes apart!"
"Is this her first child?" the doctor queries.
"No, you idiot!" the man shouts. "This is her husband!"
Is it a really good deal? If not tell him you want two dogs and the rent is still too high.
ReplyDeleteHave you already signed a lease elsewhere?
ReplyDeleteSee if you can get it lower! Otherwise, consider Lower rent vs. Yard -- right now, we want a yard. We would gladly pay more rent for more grass.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a pretty good opportunity to save yourself some cash and get a dog (assuming he's not raising your security deposit as well).
ReplyDeleteIf you like where you live and you can have a dog now, I don't really see any downside. Also, remember that you'd be moving 30 days from now, which would probably mean moving during classes. Dealing with the hassle of a new apartment or house during school can easily increase your stress level needlessly. If there's nothing really compelling you to move, I'd probably stay put, enjoy the lower rent costs, and play with my dog.
I agree with NP Odyssey. And make sure you get any extra deals in writing!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, moving is such a pain. If he gave you a good offer, I'd take it.
ReplyDeleteWell he lowered the rent $100 which puts me at least $200 less than I could rent a decent 1 bedroom anywhere else. And my place is gorgeous. The only issue is the yard. I have a "yard" here... but it isn't fenced so I can't leave him outside to play. Ugh. I'm going to look around this week (the 'rents are coming to help). If I find something, good. If not... it was meant to be that I stay.
ReplyDeleteAsk for a fence. :) Or if you can put up a fence.
