My journey through medical school, thoughts on medicine, ethics, specialties, pre-med perils, and advice for those who want to do the same.
“"Virus" is a Latin word used by doctors to mean, "Your guess is as good as mine”
"The difference between an itch and an allergy is about one hundred bucks."
"A patient going to a doctor for his first visit was asked, ''And whom did you consult before coming to me?'' ''Only the village druggist,'' was the answer. ''And what sort of foolish advice did that numbskull give you?'' asked the doctor, his tone and manner denoting his contempt for the advice of the layman. ''Oh,'' replied his patient, with no malice aforethought, ''he told me to come and see you.''"
"He's the best physician that knows the worthlessness of the most medicines" Benjamin Franklin
A man speaks frantically into the phone, "My wife is pregnant, and her contractions are only two minutes apart!"
"Is this her first child?" the doctor queries.
"No, you idiot!" the man shouts. "This is her husband!"
I'm hoping these dishes occurred over a span of at least a few weeks. Otherwise the title of your post could have been, "Ella -- How did you manage to gain 40 lbs during a single weekend?"
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious!
Lol. Yes, these are a few dishes I've made this year. Not all at once. But honestly, I feel so much healthier eating home-made food and skipping processed food. It's great!!
ReplyDeletewait.. all of that was you? that's amazing.
ReplyDeleteYep. Everything is from raw ingredients.... and I made it all from scratch. Except the pasta. I did use packaged noodles... but making my own noodles is next on my list. But I made the pesto :)
ReplyDeleteOMG. I wish I could cook like that.
ReplyDeleteWow! It all looks delicious :)
ReplyDeleteWell, if you do flunk out of med school, it seems like you might have a future in the culinary world! LOL.
ReplyDeleteI was definitely thinking along the lines of Old MD Girl and wondering if this was all made at once! You could have fed a small nation with all that food, haha! The filet and the soup look particularly delicious, though!
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes! I can barely tackle ONE of these things at once. Usually I invite somebody over to help.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful food. At first I thought it was just going to be a few pictures, and then I kept scrolling, and scrolling, and scrolling.
ReplyDeleteDo you read food blogs? One of my favorites is: http://chocolateandzucchini.com Whole foods, although a lot of baked stuff, too. I know, I know, probably shouldn't be suggesting new ways to procrastinate..but it's still summer!
These look like professional photos! AMAZING.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Photography and cooking are my two fav past-times...
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome...would love the flourless cake recipe!
ReplyDeleteIf you google Reine de Saba + Julia Child it should come up. It is kinda complicated but soooo worth it.
ReplyDeleteOk seriously, those look really good!!! I love cooking too! :)
ReplyDeletewhat kind of camera/ lens do you use to take all these pictures?
